Celebrating Innovation: Highlights from CityU's Business Innovation Education Launch Ceremony
On the morning of August 31st, the United Centre in Admiralty gathered over 90 business leaders and academia moguls who are interested in a new program designed to promote creativity, innovation, and empowering future leaders in both education and business fields in the Business Innovation Education (BIE) Launch Ceremony, organized by the College of Business of the City University of Hong Kong (CityU).
The Vision Behind the Initiative
The event began with welcoming remarks from Professor Kalok Chan, Dean of the College of Business, who underlined the essential role of business in driving transformation and the significance of fostering a culture that encourages creativity and risk-taking and emphasized the importance of the BIE in delivering education and training programs while also fulfilling industrial demands.
Following Dean Chan, Professor Michael Tse, Associate Vice-President (Innovation) and Director of the CityU Academy of Innovation, spoke on the College of Business's collaboration with his Academy. He also emphasized the shared desire to encourage innovative company ideas and activities.

Collaborative Hub for Education and Industry Innovation
Professor Tina Choi, BIE's Founding Director and Member of the Founding Committee, established the organization as a platform for achieving societal impact through innovative and immersive learning. She also underlined the BIE's collaborative aspect, which aims to connect successful entrepreneurs, investors, and researchers with missions for novel approaches to education and business processes.
In his introductory note, Professor Wilton Chau, Founding Co-Chair of BIE, emphasized the initiative's commitment to developing a hub and unifying resources for education, training, and industry interaction.
The ceremony also featured the Founding Committee Inauguration, which marked the official formation of a committed team tasked with bringing the BIE idea to fruition.

Exploring the Future: Economic Implications and Trends of Generative AI
Furthermore, Mr. Wilson Chow, a Founding Committee Member of BIE and Partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers, delivered a seminar titled "Demystifying Generative AI and its Generating Power," discussing the economic implications and considerations for adopting Generative AI (Artificial Intelligence) and the predicted trend of the usage on such with the attendees.
